A City that looks like it was plucked from a Hallmark Movie
Cruising down the CanAm Highway from Denver to Colorado Springs is beautifully picturesque, at least that’s what I thought while the flatlands in Denver slowly transformed into gigantic pine trees as I watched for the Colorado Springs exit. It’s a quaint city with a small town feel reminiscent to someplace you might see in a Hallmark film; As I walked the streets of downtown, I could almost picture myself as one of the protagonists, returning to the dreaded hometown only to realize that it’s not so bad after all. So, in this latest edition of ‘A Day In …’, I encourage you to take a walk with me through Colorado Springs, CO.
Watching nature turn from the crisp greens to bright colors of fiery orange, yellow, and gold is striking in contrast to the town itself when I arrived at the beginning of October, on a mission to feel the crisp autumn air in contrast to the still sultry, hot weather I’d experienced back home. Colorado Springs is a walkable city if you stay near the center of downtown, otherwise it’s hardly walkable in comparison to Denver.
